Diplomatico - No 1 Batch Kettle 70cl Bottle
£64.60

The Batch Kettle Still was brought to Diplomaticos La Miel distillery in 1959. Using the best sugar cane honeys, this unique distillate is aged for 6 years in American white oak barrels, that previously served to age bourbon and scotch, resulting in a delicious medium-body and complex rum. This system produces a complex distillate. After aging, the rum brings a very elegant and rich nose, combining aromas of vanilla with sweet and fruity notes of cherry and strawberry with a touch of banana. Well balanced on the palate with a sweet entry, followed by hints of ripe tropical fruits. Ends with a soft, sweet and slightly cool pronounced aftertaste. Toffee and roasted bananas, with milk chocolate, sweet cream and cinnamon toast. The toffee notes build, dominating with creamy sweetness without become too sticky. Rich and sweet, with the banana of the nose right up front. Soft char bitterness and hints of burnt toast hide at the back, with layers of caramel sauce, stewed orchard fruit and spicy nutmeg in between. Chocolate bananas fade to woody spice.

Glenlivet - French Oak 15 Year Old 70cl Bottle

Glenlivet - French Oak 15 Year Old 70cl Bottle
£57.67

Colour - Deep gold, with intense late-afternoon sunshine shades. Nose - Without water: Creamy, rich. Resinous fragrances swirl up before melting into a citrus fruit salad bowl. Lightly toasted pine nuts. Citrussy. Orange peel and candied grapefruit. A floral touch. Geranium, almond brandy snaps, vanilla toffee, fudge sauce. A tempting mellow bouquet for a sweet tooth! A dry spicy echo resonates in the back. Touch of liquorice. Water wakes up nutty and oaky aromas. Blancmange. Drying wood in a suntrap location. Rubbed on the hand - Freshly baked raisin buns, toasted brioche. Palate: Without water: Round, sweet, incredibly smooth and velvety. Wood is entirely integrated but present all the way, sweetly enveloping fruity and nutty flavours in an oaky shell. Luscious chocolate fudge fingers on taste buds. With water: Oak shows up through sweet and bitter flavours. Dark chocolate. Walnut peel. Water seems to unwind the bouquet, releasing more spices as well. The finish is drier. The finish is lingering, nutty. Toasted haelnuts, lightly smoked almonds. A distant spicy aftertaste. Oak gives the beat in the Glenlivet 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve. The influence of Limousin casks, the same that are used in Cognac, is obvious. They impart more oaky aromas (vanilla, bitter chocolate, creamy notes) than American oak. But it has achieved a remarkable smoothness, all edges cut and a rewarding complexity. The perfect dram for a sweet tooth. To be enjoyed after dinner, with a few dessert nibbles to complement its bakery bouquet. Better enjoyed with no water at all.

Tullamore Dew - Standard Blend 70cl Bottle

Tullamore Dew - Standard Blend 70cl Bottle
£24.43

The original blended Irish whiskey, known the world over for its smooth and gentle complexity. For one, it is triple distilled and patiently aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, developing its distinctive smoothness. Secondly, being a blend of all three types of Irish whiskey, it has a gentle complexity. The malt and the pot still whiskey we use give it citrus and spicy notes. The early floral yet biscuit flavour reflects the grain whiskey, while the soft spicy notes can be attributed to the pot still whiskey in the blend. The citrus flavour is contributed by the malt. Finally notice the nutty or even marzipan note combined with distinctive vanilla in the finish - imparted by the sherry and bourbon casks used in maturation. Nose: Light sweet citrus and green apple combined with vanilla undertones. Taste: Early fresh fruit leads to a definite light spice followed by some toasted wood which evolves into a delicious vanilla sweetness. Finish: Medium length, buttery mellowness with a touch of marzipan accompanying the lingering vanilla.

Jack Daniels - Single Barrel Miniature 5cl Miniature
£5.33

Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Tennessee Whiskey, the world's first charcoal mellowed whiskey to be bottled by the barrel was first introduced in February 1997. It allows whiskey aficionados to sample the work of individual barrels, comparing the subtle difference imbued by the new American white oak barrels and the intense maturation process. Each barrel of whiskey is sampled as it comes of age by their current master distiller (and his tasting panel), they then set a few aside. These barrels are the ones with the smoothest taste and the most intense flavour of varying degrees of toasted oak, caramel and vanilla. The few destined for something special - to be sold, one barrel at a time to our most discriminating customers. Jack Daniel's Single Barrel is always found in the upper most parts of the barrelhouse - they like to call this the 'Penthouse'. Because every barrel is different and in various locations in the barrelhouses no two barrels are the same. Each decanter style bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel proudly carries details of the rick number, barrel number and bottling date, communicating that each bottle is completely unique.
